Event description
Do you find it hard to relax sometimes? Our Relaxation Skills workshop teaches practical ways to relax and manage stress in everyday life.

About this Event

Our relaxation skills workshop will teach you techniques from the evidence-based therapies we use at italk.

The techniques will help you to:

  • Reduce your stress using breathing techniques.
  • Ease your aches and pains, by relaxing your muscles.
  • Manage your worries, by freeing your mind from racing thoughts

Who can attend?

Relaxation Skills is open to people aged 16+ who are registered with a Hampshire GP.

The session gives an introduction to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, focussing on relaxation techniques. If you have been feeling under pressure lately, or finding it hard to relax and clear your mind, you may find these skills help you to feel calmer and more able to manage your stress levels.

If you have been feeling down or overwhelmed for a little while now, and think you might need more support, you may prefer to refer yourself for our service at www.italk.org.uk

About the Venue

Bedhampton Community Centre venue is fully accessible, including a hearing loop. If we can make reasonable adjustments to make the session more accessible for you, please let us know. Contact details are included in your confirmation email after reserving your place.

Refreshments are provided.

Who we are

We are italk, the local talking therapy service for Hampshire, run in partnership between Southern Health NHS Trust and Solent Mind.

We are commissioned by the local Clinical Commissioning Groups to treat patients registered with GPs in Hampshire (outside of the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton).

Our treatments are free of charge, and you can self refer without needing to see your GP at www.italk.org.uk

We offer a range of evidence-based treatments to help people to recover from common mental health problems like stress, depression, anxiety, phobias, OCD and PTSD.

italk is not able to treat patients that have been diagnosed with a severe or complex mental health condition. Please speak to your mental health team about the most suitable treatment options for you.
