Event description

Description

The sound of the gong is both relaxing and highly distractional, it bypasses the rational mind bringing time and space to uncouple from everyday rumination and worry.

Many people find such moments of calm, free, creative space to be deeply relaxing, often reporting that they fall quickly into a dreamlike sleep or that poor sleep patterns are remedied for several days after the experience.

There are countless anecdotal reports of people experiencing emotional and/or physical change following repeated exposure to the gong. Often people say that such experiences can stimulate cognition, generate deep personal insight, uplift mood and bring a sense of unity.

If you are new to the gong and soundbathing please check out our blog post: TEN WAYS TO HAVE A GREAT SOUNDBATH

The gong experience requires nothing of you, simply come along to the safe space that we will create for you, lay or sit comfortably, shut your eyes and relax - immersed in these remarkable sounds and vibrations. Afterwards we will gently help you re-orientate back into everyday life and you will be welcome to spend a while in supportive community together with us if you wish.

Please note that the price of your ticket for this event includes a £2.50 donation to our nominated charity. If you are genuinely in need and unable to make this contribution then please email andrea@gongspace.org who will organise a concessionary rate for you excluding the charitable contribution.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Many people choose to enjoy this experience lying flat on the floor. So if you want to do this then please bring your own nice, comfy yoga mat(s), or equivalent, to lie on. Also a pillow for your head and a light blanket to keep your body warm as you relax deeply. If you want to experience the event in full darkness you might want to bring along an eye mask as well (the kind of thing you use on a long haul flight etc.).

If lying on the floor doesn’t appeal to you then you could bring along a comfy collapsable chair to sit on - the kind of thing you might use for a camping trip. Or if you are into mediation you might want to take your journey in meditation pose, in which case an appropriate mat, stool or cushion might be a good idea.

DO I NEED TO BOOK?

Space is limited at our venues, particularly if most people choose to lie on the floor. So it is worth booking your ticket in advance, if you can. If we have available space then we do take admission at the door: £20.00, cash only.

Please note that doors will shut at 7.30 p.m. prompt or when the space is full, whichever is the earlier, after which time, no further access will be available until the session has finished.

IS THERE PARKING AT THE VENUE?

Yes this venue has ample parking off road.

IS THE VENUE ACCESSIBLE?

Yes there is easy access to the venue from the car park, however if you have any concerns about mobility then please contact andrea@gongspace.org to discuss your worries, at least 24 hours before the event’s scheduled start time.

IS EVERYONE SAFE TO COME TO THIS EVENT?

Assuming that your are of sound body and mind then there should be no issue with you coming along to this event. If you do however have any physical or psychological condition that you are concerned will be a problem, then please contact andrea@gongspace.org to discuss your concerns prior to booking.
