Thursdays, 12.30 - 1pm. This session is led by Dr Julia Forster an Educational Psychologist & Mindfulness Teacher.
Anxiety is a natural human response when we perceive that we are under threat. This happens to us all at some stage and is a normal response to situations of challenge, uncertainty and change- such as now. However, when the brain becomes oversensitive to threat, it puts on us high alert when there is no need to be. This is when anxiety can become intrusive and detrimental to our overall health and wellbeing.
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy or MBCT and meditation can help us to create a space of calm between ourselves and what we are experiencing so that we can soften our anxiety. I will be sharing some insights into how our minds respond to anxiety over the forthcoming weeks along with some short meditation practices which can help to calm intense emotions and ruminating thoughts.
I am very excited about supporting you towards a greater sense of mental and emotional wellbeing and I really look forward to seeing you online at my weekly, Thursday lunchtime 12.30 – 1pm session
