Event description

Description

On 26 September, Glasgow will celebrate the first anniversary of the release of the city’s Resilience Strategy.

We invite you to join us for a discussion about Glasgow and other post-industrial cities together with a major urban thought leader from our sister city of Pittsburgh. Don Carter, Director of Urban Design and the Remaking Cities Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, will share insights from his book ‘Remaking Post-Industrial Cities: Lessons from North America and Europe’. He will be in conversation with Professor Brian Evans of the Mackintosh School of Architecture in the Mitchell Library.

We would be delighted if you could to join us as we reflect on the transformation of Glasgow from the collapse of heavy-industry to the city’s post-industrial resurgence, and consider what the next stages in the future of our city might be.

The talk will be followed by light refreshements.
