Remembering The Battle of Bamber Bridge

In collaboration with Preston Black History Group, The University of Lancashire are hosting a screening of a documentary short, featuring Clinton Smith remembering The Battle of Bamber Bridge and the stance that was taken by residents against racial segregation in the American Armed forces during WWII. The documentary recounts the battle that took place between the Black American soldiers and white American Military Police that erupted on 24 June 1943 in the quiet mill town of Lancashire.
