Reminiscence Morning
Event Information
Description
Revealing Oldknow’s Legacy are looking for people’s stories about the three historic sites they are researching: Marple Aqueduct, Marple Lime Kilns, and Mellor Mill. If you have a story to tell, we want to hear from you!
Do you remember playing in the tunnels at Mellor Mill when you were a child? Maybe you have stories about working or living near the Peak Forest Canal, or remember the community campaign to stop Marple Aqueduct being demolished? Or did you remember Marple Lime Kilns before the entrances were bricked up? Whatever your memories of our sites, we’d love to hear them. They will help us to tell the story of these important sites during the 20th century.
We are holding a reminiscence morning at Marple Senior Citizens’ Hall on Friday 7 April – come along, chat to us about your memories, meet others with stories to tell, and help us chart the history of the buildings which made Marple. Contact Vicky Entwistle on 07876 477977 or victoria.entwistle@canalrivertrust.org.uk for more information.
