Event description
Writing workshops using contemporary poetry to inspire your own practice. For young writers aged 13-19; open to all abilities & experience!

About this Event

Running for 10 weeks from September to November 2020, the Remote Poetry Club is a set of 1.5 hour sessions in which you can build your poetry practice alongside a group of your fellow young writers.

Each session is based around existing poetry from contemporary poets, which we will use as a basis for our own work. A great opportunity to expand who you're reading, as well as what you're writing!

“We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. ... poetry, beauty, romance, love – these are what we stay alive for.”

- Mr Keating (Robin Williams), Dead Poets Society (we will only be dealing with alive poets!)

Workshops are open to 13-19 year olds and will run from 6-7.30pm on Mondays. (*please note there is one Wednesday date this term.) The fee for the term is £80, with each session at £8.

This term's workshops are down in price from Spring 2020, as we will be working on Zoom and not in person, with slightly shorter sessions due to working online.

If you would like to enquire about making a payment for the first half of term but not the full term, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss this.
