This exciting regional event will showcase work that is currently being done in schools to effectively reduce teacher workload. You will have the chance to hear an introductory address by Sir David Carter, National Schools Commissioner, followed by a presentation from Daisy Christodoulou about ‘Whole-class marking and Comparative Judgement’. Confirmed workshops are:

• Marking and feedback led by Dawn Copping, Chair of the Independent Review Group

• Data management - the Highworth Grammar NCTL Workload Project led by Ben White, Highworth Grammar School

• The importance of reducing workload for teachers in the early stages of their careers led by Michael Green, University of Greenwich

• Shaping policy to support teachers at the early stages of their careers led by the DfE Teaching Profession Unit

The cost of standard class travel will be reimbursed for all school-based/school-attached attendees (subject to DfE guidelines that will be emailed prior to the event). Please note this does not include taxi fares unless there has been prior written agreement between the attendee and the DfE.

Who is this event for?

Leaders from all types of schools are encouraged to attend with a member of their governing board and sign up together. The event is aimed at those in and around London and the South East only as further regional events will be planned, and for those leaders who have not attended a reducing workload event in the past.
