Renovation Worship Leaders' Workshop with Andy Flannagan

Come and be inspired and equipped to allow your faith and worship to be a catalyst for personal and cultural renovation in politics, work, and community.

The event is FREE, but donations for the Tearfund Christmas Appeal are welcome on the day.

Leading like David, singing with the Psalms. Might David arrive in our churches in 2025 and say ‘I’m so flattered that you’re still singing my words but might you not want to follow my ways as well as my words.’ David wrote about the things that were right in front of him, the battles, the animals, the pastures. Are we writing about the things that are right in front of us? Are we facing the challenge of using 21st-century imagery rather than simply relying on prehistoric metaphor? While we celebrate the old we also need the new.

Come with guitar or keyboard in hand, ready to write some songs that will speak to the people of 2025, using the language and metaphor of 2025. Let’s not just be worship leaders, tickling the tummies of our congregants making them feel good with a mixture of nostalgia of stuff we’ve sung many times before, but let’s also be worship prophets, stretching our people to sing words that will impact and resonate with them in their Monday to Friday. Singing words that will speak of the breadth of God’s character, His passion for holiness, His passion for purity, His passion for justice. The God of hospitality who asks us to make space at the table for those who are not like us, and those who are in need.
