Event description

Description

To kick off Fashion Revolution Week 2019, we'll be hosting a mend and upcycle workshop for any and all who are looking to fix and freshen up worn out or broken clothing items and learn some new skills along the way. This is a great way to save money and reduce clothing waste whilst gaining some fresh wardrobe additions.

Bring one or two items of clothing that you might have been looking to get rid of and see how you can make them seem good as new!

There will be different workshops that you can rotate around:

- Sewing and repairs, taught by our very own Sales Manager, Paula (who also runs the repairs and alterations arm of Sancho's).

- Sashiko, taught by our Fore Street friend, Mattie of Bunyip Craft. Sashiko is a form of decorative reinforcement stitching, which originated in Japan.

- Tie-dye, taught by Holly of Holly Made This.

You'll leave with tons of inspiration and ideas on how to give a new lease of life to items in your wardrobe. Why buy new, when you can renew what you've already got?!

It's with this mindset that together, we can actively combat the environmental consequences of fast fashion.
