Get into the festive spirit with a sumptuous Tudor feast!
At Repast we take historical recipes and use them to create innovative, delectable dishes. This menu is inspired by the food eaten by Henry VIII and his offspring. Our delicious three-course menu includes a vegetarian option. Just let us know what you would like to eat when you book your seat.
The price of £35 per head includes a complimenary drink on arrival, three courses and coffee and petit fours plus a short tour of the premises before dinner.
STARTER: MACKEREL IN SAWCE OR PERRE (V)
A choice of soused mackerel with green herb sauce OR green pea and herb ‘pottage’
MAIN: MINCT PYE OR TARTE OF SPINAGE (V)
A choice of slow cooked shoulder of mutton with dried fruit and spices cooked in a pastry ‘coffyn’ OR Spiced spinach tart. Both served with turnip gratin and seasonal vegetables.
DESSERT: LEACH WITH YPOCRAS PEARS OR TORTIGLIONE RIPIENO (V)
Tudor style almond pannacotta with pears poached in spiced wine OR Bartolomeo Scappi’s (1500 - 1577) yeasted fruit cake stuffed with spices, dates, figs and currants.
