Is this learning event for me?

Has the removal of legal aid for Family Court cases left you with the unenviable task of preparing your case for your financial settlement? Do you need support without the eye-watering expenses a solicitor would incur? Do you feel anxious at the thought of losing your financial security? Are you overwhelmed by the prospect of completing long and complicated forms about your finances? Are you going over the same questions over and over again?

What if I complete the forms incorrectly? What if my ex doesn’t declare everything on their financial statement? What do other people in my situation do? What can I expect from a financial settlement? What am I entitled to? What do I do if I think my ex is being unfair?

If you’re asking yourself these questions, then this learning event is for you. This unique day course provides affordable trustworthy legal help and advice to people going to Family Court to settle disputes concerning financial separation.

What will I learn?

Over the course of the day, you’ll learn about each step in the legal process and what actions the court must take when overseeing your financial separation. You’ll be shown how to accurately complete all your documentation, and how to scrutinise your ex’s financial statement. Legal terms will be demystified and relevant laws explained to help you make realistic decisions about your financial future. Finally, you’ll also have the opportunity to ask for specific advice about your own case with a questions and answers session at the end of the day.

How will it help me?

You’ll learn how to prepare a flawless financial statement, become familiar with the law regarding different kinds of assets, and feel more in control of your financial future. Most of all, you’ll have the information to make sure you don’t lose out on what you’re entitled to when it comes to important financial assets such as property, pensions, and financial support for children.

Most people go on from this event to successfully prepare and manage their financial case without further assistance. Your host, Simon Walland, has expansive legal knowledge and over twenty years of Family Court experience right up to winning cases in the Court of Appeal. In addition, Simon is a proven educator who has taught at a host of universities and charities. He also advises Family Law Practices as a private consultant for more complex cases. With his experience, he can give you invaluable insight into how the Family Court will deal with your case. He'll simplify the complexities of legal processes, key legal terms and all the laws relevant to divorce, separation and financial settlements. You’ll also take away a raft of useful information, practical guidance and sample documents that you can use to manage your own case with confidence.

Is further help and support available?

Of course, sometimes extra help is needed. Sometimes a case is more complex. Sometimes, dealing with financial assets such as pensions and property is complex. The good news is that as a course attendee, you’ll benefit from guaranteed priority access to Simon Walland’s value-for-money and often-oversubscribed range of expert legal services. Whether it’s checking over your financial statement or attending court as your McKenzie friend, this pay-as-you-go service can be tailored to your needs. And of course, you can rest assured that you’ll be getting low-cost, high-end legal services.

Why this course?

Why pay for an hour with a solicitor when you can have access to a legal expert for a whole day and still have money left over?

Why reduce your expectations for a successful outcome just because you don’t have the financial resources to pay a solicitor or barrister to manage your financial case?

Your financial future is absolutely crucial to you and your family’s wellbeing so make sure you have the right information and advice to protect your future. Sign up to a day of learning and confidence building and take charge of your case and your future financial security.
