About this event

This is the first ReproducibiliTea session of 2023/2024. In this session, we will have a discussion about reproducible research based broadly around 'A manifesto for open science' (Munafo et al., 2017): https://www-nature-com.soton.idm.oclc.org/articles/s41562-016-0021 But don't worry if you don't have time to read the paper, please come along anyway!

We will then have some lunch and time for general discussion and networking.

Some more info about ReproducibiliTea:

ReproducibiliTea is a grassroots journal club initiative that helps researchers create local Open Science journal clubs at their universities to discuss diverse issues, papers and ideas about improving science, reproducibility and the Open Science movement. Started in early 2018 at the University of Oxford, ReproducibiliTea has now spread to 98 institutions in 25 different countries. We are completely volunteer run, and provide a unique and supportive community for our members, who are predominantly Early Career Researchers.

The Southampton branch of ReproducibiliTea was started in 2019 and runs discussion sessions and seminars related to topics such as robust research practice, reproducibility, replication, open science, and transparency.

The sessions are open to anybody, our current attendees range in career level from PhD students to professors.
