Synthetic Biology takes an engineering approach to the design of biological systems and is shaping the future of our bio-economy. Chaired by Tim Radford, Professor Jim Haseloff, Professor Alison Smith, Dr Rob Doubleday and colleagues discuss the implications of reprogramming organisms for use in agriculture, health, biofuels and for contributing to our fundamental understanding of biology.
