REQ 612: Female STEM Ambassadors Needed to Mentor Students During International Women in Engineering Day at Winchester Science Centre
Date: Thursday 23rd June
Location: Winchester Science Centre, Telegraph Way, Winchester, SO21 1HZ
Time: 9.30am – 2.30pm
Winchester Science Centre is hosting an International Women in Engineering Day event and would like STEM Ambassadors to mentor students throughout a STEM Challenge.
During the event students will be completing a hands on STEM Challenge. Female STEM Ambassadors are needed to support the students as they undertaken this challenge, answer any questions they may have and act as a role model. All STEM Ambassadors will be briefed at the start of the day.
In addition, Ambassadors will be needed to take part in a careers speed-networking session. During this activity ambassadors will be given five minutes to speak about their careers with groups of students. Ambassadors would discuss what they do, what they enjoy about it, the challenges they faced and any advice they would give. After five minutes a new group of students will then come to speak to the ambassador. The use of props is more than welcomed during this particular activity.
