Description

Developed at the University of Sheffield and funded by the Department of Health's Policy Research Unit in Economic Evaluation of Health and Care Interventions (EEPRU), Recovering Quality of Life (ReQoL) is a recovery oriented patient reported outcome measure. With a specific focus on mental health and recovery, ReQoL supports clinicians to work collaboratively with service users to develop care plans, as well as providing a means to monitor, review and evaluate the care. ReQoL is predominantly used in the health sector but is also used in social care, the voluntary sector, and academic institutions.

Following the successful launch of ReQoL in October 2016 we have been working with colleagues in mental health trusts across the country to support the implementation of ReQoL. In response to requests from our partners we are hosting an event to share learning about ReQoL implementation, and to support the development of a ReQoL community of practice.

Examples of how ReQoL is being used:

• To inform goal setting in clinical practice

• To inform discussions in multi-disciplinary team meetings

• To inform care planning in inpatient and community settings

• As an integral part of recovery workbooks

• To evaluate courses offered by recovery colleges

The ReQoL in Practice event

The ReQoL in Practice event offers clinicians, peer support workers, managers, outcome leads, commissioners and service users an opportunity to come together to share learning and knowledge about implementing ReQoL and how it can be used in clinical practice and quality improvement.

Aims

By the end of the day delegates will:

• Have considered and discussed applications to practice.

• Understand how to score and interpret results.

• Have had the opportunity to network with people in different trusts, learning from shared experience
