About this event
Making traditions are an inherent part of our collective heritage, but as society and technology advances, some inevitably become at risk of dying out. How do we decide what’s an essential part of our culture and what criteria do we judge this on? And what lessons can traditional making practices teach us for the future?
This Crafts magazine talk will seek to answer some of these questions with the help of a panel of makers and experts, including Robin Wood, co-founder of the Heritage Crafts Association; glass and neon artist Katherine Huskie, furniture designer Gareth Neal and architect and designer Dima Srouji. The talk will be chaired by Crafts editor Malaika Byng.
