Rescued Clay × Ealing Climate Week-Memories of Land and People, Tile Making
Rescued Clay, we source local clay excavated from construction sites from our neighbourhood, and bring it back into use. This clay, often seen as spoil or waste, becomes a medium for experimentation, storytelling, and sustainable design in a collaborative approach.
By reclaiming this material and experimenting mixing it with other local waste from our local Park Royal industry partners, we are able to explore alternative and local sustainable practices. Our work spans from handcrafted objects to exploring architectural applications.
Every piece holds the character of its origin, carrying forward the story of London's land and people.
In this open workshop, participants will combine local clay with selected
industrial waste to create their own tile. The process is both material and personal, offering space to reflect on how local resources connect to culture, place, and identity.
