Description

The Mercian RDM Support Group (RDMSG) is a special interest group of the Mercian Collaboration, aiming to provide local support and exchange of experiences within membership organisations.

This meeting will discuss the implications of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on research data management (RDM) services.

The day will include:

1. Keynote presentation by Dr Scott Summers of the UK Data Archive

2. An exercise looking at consent forms and Participant Information Sheets

3. A presentation on possible anonymisation techniques followed by an anonymisation exercise

4. Lightning talks on GDPR at various institutions (if you wish to present in this section please let the organising committee know)

Audience: This event is aimed at those who either: support RDM/GDPR at their Institution; have a line management responsibility for RDM/GDPR; or have a general interest in RDM/GDPR.

Arriving by rail

If coming to Nottingham by train, the easiest route to the University is to connect onto the tram at Nottingham Railway Station (towards Toton). You will need to alight at the University of Nottingham, which is by the South Entrance to the University. From here please walk up towards East Drive, passing the lake and Lakeside Arts. Head up the hill towards the main visitor car park (located between 16 & 18 on the campus map). From the car park, follow the path around the east side of Cripps to end up on Cripps Hill. The Marmont Centre is marked as number 17 on the campus map. The walk will likely take circa 15-20 minutes.

Arriving by car

If arriving by car, please head towards the main pay & display visitor car park (located between 16 & 18 on the campus map). From the car park, follow the path around the east side of Cripps to end up on Cripps Hill. The Marmont Centre is marked as number 17 on the campus map
