Would benefit: Any academic from any discipline who wants to understand relevant health & safety requirements of carrying out their research and how to undertake risk assessments

All research has risks that need to be managed to enable it to proceed without causing harm to you or others. A basic knowledge of health and safety requirements and consideration of the practical application of risk management strategies will help keep you safe, health and law-abiding during your research activities. This workshop will help you to: understand the framework of health and safety law applicable in the UK; consider the risks your research may pose to you and others and ways to manage these risks; undertake a risk assessment which may be required to support a Fieldwork or Research Ethics Committee proposal).
