Research, Impact and the UK Parliament: London
Wed 7 June 2017, 13:30 – 17:00 BST
Could your research have an impact in the UK Parliament?
Discover how your research could broaden debate and better inform our democracy at Research, Impact and the UK Parliament
During this interactive three hour training session you will learn:
- How to contact MPs and Members of the House of Lords about your research
- How to work with Select Committees and submit evidence drawing on your research
- How to work with Parliament to improve your REF case studies
The session is hosted by Parliament’s Universities Team and will include presentations from the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology, a clerk of a House of Commons Select Committee and Parliament’s Outreach and Engagement Service.
“The speakers were all excellent. It was great to attend an event where serious and important content was delivered in such an interesting, open and engaging way.” - RIUKP Attendee, November 2016
The event includes afternoon tea and a chance to network following the training.
There is an attendance fee of £40, including VAT. The fee includes refreshments and an afternoon tea. If this fee is a barrier to your attendance, please contact us; we may make exceptions in some circumstances.
Please note that this event is aimed at academics and researchers. If you would like a free community workshop about how the UK Parliament works and how you can get involved, please contact the Outreach and Engagement Service directly or complete our Community workshop booking form.
