About this event

Join the Stand Up For Siblings initiative to learn about how research on the estrangement of children in care from their brothers and sisters is influencing practice change in Children's Hearings and local authorities.

This online event is for all those involved in practice within Children's Hearings and care for children and young people in Scotland. It will provide an opportunity to reflect on your own practice and exchange ideas with others working to support children's relationships with their brothers and sisters.

We'll share the findings of the research around estrangement of children from their brothers and sisters and permanence, and why there needs to be a fundamental change going forward.

Attendees will hear from Children's Hearings Scotland on a pilot of best practice in Hearings on brothers and sisters and the challenges experienced on the implementation of new laws on Hearings. From West Lothian Council, we'll also hear from The Promise Lead about how this local authority is working to meet The Promise for brothers and sisters in care.

There will be time for discussion and questions to the speakers and attendees will have the opportunity to exchange experiences with others.
