Description

This event is part of a series of Research Seminars organised by the Department of Languages at Leeds Beckett University.

The research keynote lecture on “The Future of Modern Languages Teaching and Research”, with a reflection on ethnography as a methodology for modern languages, will be given by Professor Michael Gratzke from the University of Hull.

Professor Michael Gratzke is Chair of the University Council of Modern Languages in the UK, an umbrella organisation for language departments and language centres in UK universities and many subject associations covering languages and cultures, area studies, linguistics, and translation studies.

Other external delegates on the platform will be Dr Naomi Wells, University of London and Dr Thea Pitman, University of Leeds.

Refreshments will be available from 14.00 - 14.30.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Public parking is very limited at Headingley Campus. There is a pay and display carpark (via the Church Wood Avenue entrance), but spaces are limited. Headingley Campus is well served by buses and other public transport options.
