Research Matters 2017 - North East
Mon, 8 May 2017, 12:30 – Tue, 9 May 2017, 18:30 BST
The RIBA is delighted to be working with both Northumbria University and Newcastle University to co-host a new model for the popular RIBA Research Matters event outside of London for the first time.
This conference aims to support researchers attending Academic Member schools in the development of their work (or thesis at higher degree level), adopting the rigour of an academic conference, with papers to be presented in a constructive and non-confrontational atmosphere.
Surrounded by the singular architecture and topography of Newcastle, and supported by local practices, we see this as a model to be pursued elsewhere in the UK, and look forward to other collaborations which will bring together the research communities in practice and academia.
Research Matters 2017 - North East is a free event and will take place on the 8th and 9th May at Northumbria University (day 1) and Newcastle University (day 2) and will feature contributions from our Academic Member universities, local practices and a selection of keynote speakers. The event will also feature Monday evening drinks, to be hosted by Northumbria University, as well as a city tour on Tuesday afternoon.
Please ensure that you book a ticket so we can make appropriate arrangements for catering.
