Are you an Educational Psychotherapist (UKCP accred Child Psychotehrapist), a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist or a therapeutic practitioner working in educational settings?

Are you interested in undertaking a piece of research for your own professional development or to contribute to the evidence-base of your organisation?

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a small group-learning experience over four hour-long sessions which will include:

• Epistemological positioning of quantitative and qualitative research

• Review of main approaches to qualitative research and implications for research in educational contexts

• Review of methods of data collection in qualitative research including Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis

• Brief discussion of a clinical vignette

• Opportunity for group discussion and sharing of ideas for research proposals

Please note that these sessions are Masters / Level 7 FHEQ level learning as this is part of our Advanced Diploma learning programme.

About the seminar leader:

Maria-Jose Lagos-Serrano is a clinical psychologist and holds a doctorate in Education from the UCL Institute of Education. She specialises in projective psychodiagnostics, is founding partner and research consultant for the Centre of Early Childhood Studies and currently works as a lecturer in Childhood, Youth and Education Studies at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her research is framed within a psychoanalytically-informed psychosocial perspective.
