Research Methods Seminar - Research Integrity - Dr Malcolm MacLean
Wed 26 April 2017, 16:30 – 17:30 BST
For many years researchers across a wide range of disciplines have explored and developed subject and discipline specific approaches to research ethics. These debates about how we do our research and relationships between research participants have often taken place within an implicit set of assumptions about research integrity.
In recent years these questions of research and institutional cultures have become more significant as growing numbers of cases of research misconduct have come to light (see http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-39357819). This seminar will open up these questions of research integrity and institutional research cultures in the light of the Concordat to Support Research Integrity (at http://www.universitiesuk.ac.uk/policy-and-analysis/reports/Documents/2012/the-concordat-to-support-research-integrity.pdf), and should be of interest to all active researchers and research administrators.
