Event description

Description

This event will give practitioners, students, service users and university academics an opportunity to really explore the value of research and how we can make much better use of it, to improve and inform our practice. Many practitioners are involved in research and our newly qualified social workers come to us with fresh ideas and knowledge, yet we seldom invite them to share their ideas with us; local academics are regularly involved in new pieces of research, but our frontline staff rarely know what’s being researched on their own doorstep –it could all be valuable stuff! So – let’s embrace research, value the learning we can gain from others (young and old), and get ourselves actively engaged with research!

Our local academics from the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University will facilitate the day, alongside the Teaching Partnership team, and you’ll have an opportunity to find out more about the research being undertaken, how you could get involved, and what resources are out there.

Market Place: Poster Presentations, Networking and Discussions

Keynote Speakers: Professor Di Bailey Nottingham Trent University

Dr. Rachel Fyson University of Nottingham

Dr. Julie Gosling, Making Waves

Claire Lawty-Shortland, Practice Consultant, Nottinghamshire County Council

Think Research!
