This seminar is part of the ‘Inclusive use of Artificial Intelligence in education in Vietnam’ project international research seminar series. The project is funded by the UK Department for Science Innovation and Technology’s International Science Partnerships Fund in collaboration with the British Council. As part of our project, we are running an international research seminar series on inclusive use of AI in education. The seminar series aims to bring together researchers and practitioners in the field to share latest scholarly work, exchange research informed practices and policies and to form an international network of scholars working on the topic of inclusive use of AI in education. The ’ Inclusive use of Artificial Intelligence in education in Vietnam’ project focuses on the pedagogical experiences, considerations and needs from rural and urban areas in Vietnam with the aim to learn about the perspectives of educators and learners from different groups from these areas on using AI in education. This is underpinned by UNESCO's recommendation (2019) that 'as AI is emerging, there is an opportunity to involve education stakeholders at an early stage to shape them based on educators', learners' and education leaders' perspectives for sustainable development and implementation of AI'. The project team of education and computer science researchers from six universities in Vietnam and in the UK will be working with eight high schools from across north, central and south regions of Vietnam to develop a set of principles, resources and practices for inclusive development and implementation of AI in education. Project findings will be developed into resources for educators and researchers; and inform a roadmap and recommendations for a sustainable development of emerging tech for education. For more information about the project and to stay up to date on project activities and progress, please visit our project website: ai4gv.edu.vn.If you have any queries about this event, please contact the project lead: vanessa.cui@bcu.ac.uk.
