Researcher Mobility Seminar

Are you looking to foster your global research collaboration network, or to develop an international dimension to your career? Researcher mobility is key to building networks and strengthening your academic profile.
There are various travel prizes available for staff and students at The University of Nottingham. Come and find out more about the funds available and hear from previous winners, who will share their stories with you, including how their prize is helping them in their career development.
Dr Victoria Sedman will discuss some of the internal awards and grants available to research staff, that facilitate short-term research projects either by staying here at Nottingham or through working with international collaborators. The session will include information on current schemes and personal insights from both past recipients and current reviewers on how to improve your grant writing and make the best application.

Gareth Shannon NASA
Gareth spent two months on a placement with NASA with support from the BESTS prize and is currently working at the NASA Ames Research Centre in California.
Rebecca is a Research Fellow at The University of Nottingham. Rebecca is a former prize winner and current reviewer of the BESTS prize.
Kamaljit is a PhD student and winner of both the BESTS and Graduate School Travel Prizes. The Travel Prize supported his attendance the 24th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition whilst the BESTS prize enabled him to attend the European Commission as a Visiting Scientist.
The event is open to Staff and Post-graduate research students at The University of Nottingham only.
