Event description

Description

The Clinical Legal Education Organisation (CLEO) and the Legal Education Research Network (LERN) invite you to attend a jointly hosted one day workshop on designing legal education research, with a particular focus on researching clinical legal education. The workshop will be delivered by LERN’s Co-Director, Professor Lisa Webley. It will offer delegates practical guidance on:

  • identifying potential research projects;
  • research methods in legal education research; and
  • research design.

The workshop is open to anyone interested in legal education research. However, it may be of particular interest to:

  • early career researchers;
  • experienced researchers who are new to pedagogical research;
  • clinical legal educators; and
  • legal practitioners working in legal education.

Professor Lisa Webley’s research concerns the regulation, education and ethicality and professionalism of the legal profession, and broader access to justice and rule of law concerns. She has been the Principal Investigator on several large research projects and has undertaken funded empirical research for public bodies and organisations including the European Commission; the Ministry of Justice and the Department for Trade and Industry. She is the Head of School at Birmingham Law School and Director of Research for the School’s Centre for Professional Legal Education and Research (CEPLER).
