About this event

Our speaker, Andrew Armstrong has researched his Border Reivers families for some 30 years, with special interest in the Armstrong families and others who lived in those areas, such as the Elliott, Crozer, Nixon, Henderson, Irving, Bell, Beattie and Little. On reading Andrew's webiste it was noted that he had an interest in what happened to the area and the change of tenants in the years following the public hangings and subsequent to the exodus of manhy families to the Ulster Plantations after 1609. Not many of us have researched so far back in time, but Andrew's talk might give us a better picture of lives in those times and the dispersal of families.
