'2021 marks the 128th anniversary of the the educational institution now known as Writtle University College and which for over 80 years has been located on the outskirts of Writtle village in Essex. Starting life as the County Technical Laboratories in Chelmsford, courses were offered in agriculture and horticulture; increasing students numbers resulted in a move to Writtle. This presentation will trace the development of the new campus and changes to the landscape over time and examine some of the fascinating stories uncovered during my research such as the connection between Writtle and the Loch Ness monster.'
