Join Social Enterprise expert Terry King OBE for an informative and thought provoking learning journey. Develop your ideas and set up, or grow your own social enterprise.
Following on from Terry's Your community, your environment, your business workshop, we dig deeper into the benefits and logistics of your ethical business planning and goals.
In this workshop we will cover:
- How much will it really cost to run my social business?
- Understand the 3 critical questions to ask about costs when setting up a social enterprise
- Who are my customer segments and why should they care about my social purpose?
- Understand the difference between customers, funders and beneficiaries and why that is important.
- The importance of diverse revenue streams
- Understand why it is important to have several complimentary sources of income

Terry King OBE
Terry had a successful senior management career in the UK Civil Service delivering several high risk and high-profile projects. In 2002 she was awarded an OBE for her work lifting pensioners out of poverty and for the development and coaching of women.
She is an acknowledged expert on business start-up particularly in regard to social enterprises. She co-founded Chapter 3 Enterprise a not- for-profit company in 2016 and a supporting digital training academy in 2019. She appears regularly on TV and radio discussing current issues including mature enterprise, mature unemployment and age discrimination.
Her passion for social enterprise extends to supporting the Jitpurphedi Women’s Agricultural Cooperative in Nepal where she raised £70,000 to support the construction of a Women’s Business Centre near Kathmandu. In 2017 she founded Friends of VIN UK, another social enterprise to continue to support the people of Nepal.
