Resilience and Early Childhood Adversity
Fri 9 June 2017, 12:00 – 14:00 BST
Resilience is a ground-breaking documentary for everyone who wants to better understand how and why children are impacted in multiple ways by early experiences of adversity, such as growing up without a sense that they emotionallay exist and 'matter' to their parents or carers.
It draws on the most profound resesarch to emerge in our life-times on how what happens to a child from 0-18 years greatly affects their physical and mental health outcomes, can bring about early death and reduced life-chances in all areas.
The application of the Adverse Childhood Experiences study is now globally acknowledged as being necessary to all public health, parenting, educational and early years policies and practices. It is the guiding light to increasing resilience for children and can not be ignored.
Join the debate on how we apply this understanding and research on resilience for our most vulnerable children first and foremost, but also for every child and young person forward.
