RESILIENCE: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope

"THE CHILD MAY NOT REMEMBER, BUT THE BODY REMEMBERS"

Researchers have recently discovered a dangerous biological syndrome caused by abuse and neglect during childhood. As the new documentary Resilience reveals, toxic stress can trigger hormones that wreak havoc on the brains and bodies of children, putting them at a greater risk for disease, homelessness, prison time, and early death.

This is an opportunity to see the acclaimed documentary "Resilience - the Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope” and participate in a discussion with guest speakers.

With the rising concern of the mental health and well-being of our children and young people, not to mention the stresses families are facing, this film seeks to make visible the impact of childhood trauma. It also gives us hope that we can be resilient in the face of adversity.

There will be an opportunity to explore responses to this film and to join a growing movement of people who work with people in health, education, social care and criminal justice who want to see change.
