Description

Resilience is a one-hour documentary that delves into the science around the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and how they can affect minds and bodies; and have a long-term impact on physical health and well being without support. Based on breakthrough science, it offers ground-breaking insight and hope on how to support those impacted by toxic stress and greatly improve the health of future generations. A panel of experts will be available to support us process the film with a shared discussion around attachment, trauma and resilience.


Open to all who want to make a difference in their current roles and responsibilities at home and in the work place.

Beverages and light snacks will provided.


THE CHAIR

Andrea Perry: Integrative Psychotherapist, consultant, author and publisher specialising in trauma and atttachment and a psychosocial practitioner within the British Red Cross.


THE PANEL

Jamie Carter: Consultant Paediatrician working in safeguarding and neuro-developmental paediatrics across Sussex. He has an interest in developmental trauma, abusive head injuries and FASD. He trained in London & the South Coast and undertook a fellowship in child protection in Australia.

Karen Milton: Paediatric Occupational Therapist across Sussex and professional lead for sensory processing , with a specialism and advanced training in sensory attachment integration (SAI).

Helen Wright: Specialist Teacher, Therapist and Trainer, with a specialism in attachment aware and trauma responsive practice (AATR) in families and schools. She has residential community home experience. She has developed nurture groups across many Bristol schools and initiated city wide AATR practice. Based in Bristol, Helen is part of the TouchBase team there and trains nationally.

Louise Michelle Bomber: Specialist Teacher, DDP certified Therapist, Author, National & International training and Clinical Lead of TouchBase Centre CiC working towards supporting recovery for children and young people impacted by adverse childhood experiences, so they can function well at home, school and out in the local community.
