Mental health and Wellbeing in Communications

Working in PR and communications is stressful, according to the CIPR state of the profession report published last year, around one in six PR professionals (16%) report living with a mental health condition an increase of 10% from the year before. Any percentage increase is a concern, and highlights that more needs to be done in our industry to address this. Interestingly, a PRWeek/PRCA survey on mental health found that only 24 percent of PR employers operate a formal mental health policy.

Join us at Ketchum on the 15th May where we will be sharing stories and discussing solutions for how we can support ourselves, colleagues and employees (the most important assets) in our business. How do we strike a balance of having a happy health and productive workforce, whilst showing support in times of need and dealing with our ever-growing target driven workload?

Our speakers include: Jean Madan, head of commercial development at Mental Health First Aid; Emma Mamo, Head of Workplace Wellbeing MIND; Richard Martin, ByrneDean, lawyer, campaigner and Author of 'This Too Will Pass - Anxiety in a Professional World; Adele Minchin Communications Director and Wellbeing Champion, Riot and Ebony Gayle, Ebony Gayle Communications. The session will be chaired by Ali Jeremy, Director of Communications and Marketing, NSPCC.
