Event description
The Doctoral Academy Forum invites all postgraduate researchers at the University of Dundee to our Resilience in Research session .

About this event

Mental wellbeing and resilience have increasingly been a topic of interest, particularly for researchers. Therefore, the Doctoral Academy in partnership with the Support Hub is delighted to invite you to our Resilience in Research session for postgraduate researchers at the University of Dundee.

This is an informal peer-support event in which attendees can hear Caroline Adamson, Senior Counsellor and Clinical Lead of the University of Dundee’s Counselling Service, talk about the top ten tips for postgraduate researchers and their mental health and wellbeing. This talk will be followed by a conversation in which attendees can share their own personal tips or ask questions.

The most important aim of this session is to create an environment which facilitates conversation and in which PGRs can have their say and feel heard, as well as offering useful advice on how to take care of their mental health, with a special mention of international students and the extra stresses that might imply.

This Doctoral Academy Forum Session is free and open to all postgraduate researchers at the University of Dundee. It will take place Friday 28 May (14:30-15:00 BST) and it will consist of:

  • “Top ten tips for good mental health and resilience in research” by Caroline Adamson.
  • Group discussion.
  • Q&A and self-care activity.

You can also find more information about the university’s Resilience in Research resource here.
