Resilience under extraordinary circumstances
About this event
Introduction
The phrase Climate Emergency has been used in Cornwall for over a year, but only now are we starting to understand what living in a time of emergency really means. We are all having to adapt to the ways in which Covid-19 has reshaped what is possible and prompted behaviour change on a scale not seen in our lifetimes.
Many organisations are struggling to adapt, and while the priority is to save lives we must also think ahead to when the pandemic is under control, or has been replaced by another seismic event. Supply chains, travel infrastructure, customer behaviour and more factors may not return to how there were before. How can we learn from what is happening right now? What do we need now that we didn’t need two months ago? If you could go back in time to prepare for Covid-19 what would we change about your business?
Speaker background
Peter Lefort, Sector and Partnerships Lead for Cornwall Council’s Carbon Neutral Cornwall programme, will share ideas around organisational resilience and how it has become a much more real and immediate concept in the past weeks, including how the Council is responding, and how Covid-19 fits within the Climate Emergency planning. Come and share your ideas for what we need to make Cornwall’s business sector more resilient against current and future shocks, and how we can work together to show what can be done when we are confronted with an emergency.
