We live at a time of multiple crunches, with many experiencing financial stress, ongoing impacts of the pandemic, struggles with health, energy and mood, organisations in states of collapse, and alarming trends of the climate crisis. These and other challenges highlight the need to make resilience tools more widely available, as research shows they can help reduce the risk of depression, anxiety and stress-related harm, while also strengthening people’s coping capacity when facing adversity. The course is based on a 'thrutopian' approach that can be applied to a range of contexts and system levels in helping us make it through periods of challenge in the best possible way.
This online training is designed for practitioners (including coaches, health and social care professionals, managers, teachers and therapists) who wish to familiarise themselves with evidence-based resilience tools both to use themselves and pass on to those they work with. The course is also suitable for interested members of the public keen to grow their capacity to deal with difficult times and/or take steps in developing a practitioner role supporting others.
"This is one of the best courses I've been on, in terms of both content and process. The content is evidence-based, beautifully presented with memorable pictures and words, and organised in manageable and meaningful 'chunks'."
Mandy Hetherton, Coach and facilitator
This course starts on Tuesday 7th October at 7.30pm UK time, with webinars of 90 minutes each Tuesday for the first seven weeks, then with a practice period and a final review webinar on 27th January 2026. It is recognising by the Association for Coaching for continuing professional development (CPD) and offers a pathway to becoming a certified Resilience Practitioner.
