This workshop will allow people to have a better understanding of resilience, what can positively and negatively impact their resilience levels and be able to identify their own triggers and early warning signs. Participants will be better equipped to improve their resilience levels, reduce stress and be better able to cope with difficult circumstances.

Topics included are:

  • What is Resilience?

  • What causes your resilience to be challenged?

  • What is the impact of poor emotional health on our physical and social well-being?

  • What is good stress and bad stress and how can negative thinking styles affect resilience?

  • Good coping skills and strategies- positive support networks and implementing a toolkit of practical activities and techniques

The Empower project is a Big Lottery funded initiative through the Reaching Out Supporting Families Programme which support Families across Mid Ulster and Antrim & Newtownabbey Council areas. The focus of the project is to support children under 12 with Autism, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia, their parents and the wider family circle to enhance confidence and learn together to develop skills to support their children.
