Resilience: Showing strength in the face of adversity.
Fri 7 April 2017, 08:30 – 17:00 BST
We are excited to invite you to our 4th annual student led conference.
This year our conference will focus on Resilience. Within current maternity services, healthcare professionals, students and service users are faced with increasing pressures and daily challenges. We believe it is important to equip professionals including newly qualified midwives, our fellow students and the service users we care for with the skills to face these challenges and continue on in their midwifery journey.
We also wish to use the conference to celebrate the resilience and achievements of by our speakers and breakout group leaders.
The day will be led by Sheena Byrom including fabulous speakers Professor Mavis Kirkham, Dr Jacque Gerrard, Helen Howard , Sally Pezzaro, Helen Spiby and One to One Midwives.
Nearer the time we will be in touch via email to provide further details of our breakout group sessions enabling you to choose which session you would like to attend in advance. This will save you time upon arrival. Please keep an eye out for further details!
On the day, there will be stalls hosted by Pinter and Martin, The Royal College of Midwives, The Association of Radical Midwives and One to One with light refreshments on offer throughout the day.
We will be hosting a raffle and there is the option to purchase your raffle tickets now. It is a great way to support the society and you may even win a prize! Raffle funds will be donated to Early Essentials - a non-profit Christian organisation who provide hampers of baby essentials to mothers who are in desperate need of supplies.
