I get knocked down, but I get up again! How to build Resilience in young people

Resilient children can ‘resist adversity, cope with uncertainty and recover more successfully from traumatic events or episodes’.

The aim of this workshop is to provide attendees with a good understanding of what resilience is, how being resilient can benefit young people and an understanding of the skills and resources required to support a young person in building resilience.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain an understanding of what resilience is and how it fits in with the building blocks for learning
  • How to identify a young person who is lacking resilience
  • Gain an understanding of how being resilient can benefit a young person’s engagement with learning
  • Gain and understanding of the various resources available and how to use them with young people
