Event Information
Description
If you've been thinking about running a workshop to teach other people something you love to do - or are already doing it but would like to brush up your skills - this may be the course for you!

Tuesday 29 March 7 - 9pm
Tuesday 5 April 7 - 9pm
Tuesday 26 April 7 - 9pm
Tuesday 3 May 7 - 9pm
The course is intended particularly for people running or interested in
running informal learning or skill share workshops, but it is also open
to anyone else who would like to gain the skills involved in running a workshop or
similar learning activity.
The course will include:
Planning a workshop session - a step by step how-to guide
Aims and learning outcomes - what they are and how you and your learners can set them together.
Learning styles - how different people learn and how you can use this to plan your workshop.
Adapting plans to meet the needs and interests of particular participants - making sure everyone can take part.
Risk assessment in relation to planning workshops - a simple guide to making sure everyone is safe!
Evaluating for learning - how can you tell if people have learnt what you've taught them!
This will be a 'hands on' course and you will have the chance to try out what you've learnt, so the theory can make sense in real life.

Travel information:-
We are a city centre venue and parking can be in short supply. If you are driving, please make sure you leave plenty of time to find a parking space click here for a map of where the nearest parking spaces can be found. There is no free parking in the city centre during the daytime although there is some in the Bedford Place/Polygon area on Sundays. Please do not park in the depot behind the Art House, as this is not part of our premises and people have been clamped there. All parking near to us is patrolled regularly by wardens, even late at night and on Sundays.
We are about 10 minutes walk from Southampton City Centre train station and on the route for most city centre buses.
