A series of new music events in Ramsgate, Kent
For the second event we see a release party for JQ & Richard Pike's 'Tessera' LP.
Releasing on Salmon Universe, 'Tessera’ is the label curators' first official duo recording.
It explores the electronic relationship between texture, frequency and impermanence in a singular way, a fleeting stream of sound materials that float in and out of view, within seconds can appear present and demanding of attention, then to fall away into a corner at the back of the room. There is a constant feeling of connection and disconnection, an ephemeral playfulness.
Opening the night will be Danish guitarist and composer Anders Holst.
Based in Copenhagen, Anders has been an integral part of the music scene in Denmark for the last 20 years, working in the field bridging composition with improvisation. He has performed all over Europe and US with his bands and as a soloist. Only in Ramsgate a short time, it will be a rare solo set.
Resonant Coast is an irregular regular event focused upon marginal ambient, electronics, improvised music and less trod areas of musical expression. Curated by Richard Pike it aims to address off-spectrum original-composed live music.
From the success of #1 we are bringing back at this time in the lovely new basement venue of Ramsgate Arts Club, housed in the Old Wine Warehouse in the conservation area of Charlotte Court, Ramsgate.
