This event will equip teachers, trainee teachers and advisers with resources which inspire future generations to explore their career options in the Digital, Healthcare and Engineering sectors. These are three areas with significant predicted skills shortages in West Yorkshire.
At HEART Partnership we have developed resources based on the stories of local graduates currently working in these sectors. By using real-life role models, we want to subvert the traditional stereotypes of employees in these economic priority areas and use their stories to engage students from across all secondary key stages. Attendees will leave the Resourceful Futures event with access to our resources and a clear idea of how they can be utilised in their school. Guest speakers will include The Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) who will present a picture of the current labour market in these sectors, how to access information and resources to help you use this information to inform the advice being delivered in your schools.
We have also teamed up with the WISE campaign (Women in Science, Technology and Engineering) to deliver the ‘People Like Me’ workshop at the event; familiarising our attendees with a teaching resource which helps girls understand who they are and how this relates to roles in the STEM sector.
The Resourceful Futures event takes place on Tuesday 15th November at The Hepworth in Wakefield, for more information about the event please email – email@example.com
