The Respiratory Data Science Catalyst, which is led by Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) and funded by Asthma + Lung UK, is a partnership which facilitates and accelerates health data research into chronic and acute respiratory conditions.

We’re excited to launch our upcoming academic webinar series - with the next session taking place on Wednesday, 1st October 2025 (11:30-12:30). This event will feature an insightful talk from:

Dr Sarah Menzies, Consultant Respiratory Physician at Frimley NHS Foundation, who will be presenting on the Use of Data in Tuberculosis services.

'Tuberculosis (TB) has been a notifiable disease in England since 1913. Notification data has played a key role in improving the care and control of the disease, allowing assessment of incidence, distribution and trends over time. Since 1999, enhanced TB reporting and improvements in microbiological analysis have generated more detailed datasets, enabling assessment of the performance of TB services against a series of targets. The TB Cohort Review process undertaken regularly by TB teams in each region, where TB teams present pre-selected cases and review epidemiological data, has strengthened TB care in the UK.’

We warmly invite you to join us at this webinar to learn more and ask questions about the exciting research taking place and what it means for developing new treatments in Respiratory Medicine.
