A training course for key workers, front line workers and support who work with children and adults with learning disabilities and/or autism

About this Event

This course covers training that is tailored for Key workers, front line workers and support staff of those that support child and adults with a learning disability and/or autism, who experience trauma, neglect and abuse.

This course will cover

  • Developmental impact of trauma
  • Trauma symptoms such as dissociation/flash backs
  • Trauma triggers
  • Understanding the affects of trauma on systems and organisations around the client
  • Trauma Informed Practice and Systems
  • Trauma-informed risk assessment and management
  • Risk factors for self-harm in the context of previous/current trauma exposure
  • Risk factors for different forms of violence, abuse and re-victimisation
  • Factors influencing disclosure
  • Responding to disclosures
  • Confidentiality and recording disclosure
  • Working with Interpersonal difficulties linked to trauma
  • Interpersonal relationships in the context of trauma
  • Thinking about boundaries and endings
  • Complex trauma
  • Trauma informed care planning (PBS)
