About this Training - Face to face in Newcastle

Child-to-Parent Aggression and/or Harm (CPA) is increasing in visibility across the UK, yet many practitioners feel unsure how to identify it early, what language to use, or how to respond confidently. This training provides clear, research-informed, practical guidance to support front-line and early intervention work.

Delivered by Capa First Response CIC, a UK specialist organisation working with thousands of families nationwide, this session offers a blend of evidence, real-world insight, and ready-to-use tools.

You will learn:

  • What CPA is – and isn’t
  • Drivers behind harmful behaviour: neurodevelopmental, trauma, attachment, and contextual factors
  • Why families often feel blamed, fearful and stuck
  • How to use early intervention to reduce risk and avoid crisis escalation
  • The importance of language without blame or judgement
