Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Abuse
Overview
Duration: 3 hours (including a break)
Delivery: Interactive workshop held on Zoom
Workshop Overview:
1 in 4 women and 1 in 18 men have experienced sexual abuse since the age of 16, yet most people fear speaking out and never receive the support they deserve. This workshop will enhance your knowledge around the different types of sexual abuse and how we can all play a part in preventing sexual abuse and breaking down the culture of silence and shame.
We have created an impactful 3 hour workshop designed to help you understand sexual abuse, the impact it has, how to recognise it, respond to it with trauma-informed practice and support those impacted. Through expert insights, meaningful discussions, real-life case examples and an interactive quiz and activities, you'll learn how to identify, respond and support.
Nobody should suffer in silence, just one person who listens can change someone's life.
What you’ll learn:
- What sexual abuse is.
- Understand trauma and the brain.
- Build confidence in responding to disclosures of sexual abuse with trauma-informed practice.
